have you guys seen this video from chipotle yet? i think the messaging is spot-on and the video was produced really beautifully. i will say that chipotle is not perfect, but as a large corporate company, they certainly do much better than their competition in choosing "food with integrity," as they call it.

as someone who believes in eating meat (when i do) that is responsibly raised, without hormones, in a natural environment where the animals can roam and mature naturally, i appreciate this video for portraying a farmer who chooses the sometimes more difficult/expensive, but clearly more ethical way of raising animals for us to eat. it really shouldn't be a question for any farmer, and i hope that soon in the future, more and more farms and companies take a stand and start raising animals in a more responsible way. you're on the right track, chipotle, keep it up.

run the world

beyonce has been on my it-list lately. she's gorgeous, having a baby, and while watching her recent vma performance, i was reminded that the woman can SING. she falls off my radar a lot because she's so mainstream, but i feel like her stardom is warranted--that woman can do anything! case in point: her video for "run the world (girls)" has some of the best dancing i've seen in a music video in awhile (not that i watch them often, but still..) beyonce looks incredible and the video features some really impressive choreography and a catchy song, which i can handle once in awhile. afrojack isn't my favorite dj but he did the beat for this song, and it definitely has that electronic influence. what's not to like? check it out below, and tell me you don't want to move like beyonce.

 

move, eat, learn

i'll focus on "eat"  and "move" here, but just wanted to share this really awesome project by rick mereki. he created these really well-done videos from his trip around the world. make sure to check out  learn too. i do love food, but i think "move" is my favorite. from rick, on the project:

american girl

this fun video and shoot from fgr evoke summer in the best way. love the thick borders on the photos, the dusty, muted tones and the spontaneity of the shots. looks like a carefree day in cali and that's kind of what i've been craving.

also, two quick things. one: i finally jumped on the iphone bandwagon but i have to admit i love it. games, photo apps, its better than i thought. bye clam phone. and two: i finally started messing around with my dad's hand-me-down canon rebel this weekend, so once i figure out how to load the pics onto my computer (slightly old camera, slightly old technology, so this may take me a bit), i'll share some of my shots. i'm excited to finally have a camera to practice with and can't wait to take it everywhere.

holiday, it's a holiday

i kind of love (and secretly sing) the song from this tommy hilfiger commercial whenever it comes on. the festive imagery, funny storyline and fashionable threads are eye candy in a world of generally boring, annoying ads. props to tommy!
