I've been stumbling across the most adorable cards by Dear Hancock at various shops and boutiques lately. I couldn't resist picking up the pretty watercolor dot card and the station wagon party card. Both were too cute to ignore. I love the way they're illustrated and the bright colors don't hurt either. Big fan!

it's almost time to ring in the new year! what will 2012 hold? hopefully lots of new, positive experiences, laughs, learning, travel and more. in the meantime, i've got new year's eve parties on my mind. i haven't totally firmed up my plans yet but i know that if i got one of these confetti filled invites in the mail, i'd head straight over to this party. such a clever idea!

i flipped through the holiday madewell catalog the other day and fell in love, so i had to feature an amazing oxford shoe that i'm coveting from them in this week's edition of wishlist wednesday, along with some other goodies: a timeless clutch, some statement jewelry and a pretty awesome barstool. hope you like what you see.

i officially love egg press. ever since we got a few cards from them in our blogshop goodie bags, i have been swooning over the portland, oregon based studio and their letterpress designs. russian dolls to say thank you? yes please. a happy birthday bear? of course. each card is letterpressed by hand, making them unique and crafted with care. in fact, for their 10th anniversary, they created a very cool behind-the-scenes video that shows just how much work goes into each press. check it out here and take a look at some of my favorite designs from egg press below too:

field notes. i've seen them, and i've heard about them. yesterday, i finally ordered a set on fab.com (a very cool discount site dedicated to all things good design, join here) and i'm super excited to try them out. after reading the happiness project on my trip to china (pictures coming soon, i promise!), i've been feeling the need to journal in some way, even if it's just a sentence or two each day. a new set of notebooks is great motivation to start, so that's what i'm telling myself. i bought a variety pack of colors and i can't wait to see what i get. fingers crossed for neon.
anyway, back to the field notes--they're pretty awesome and made in the usa. they have a subscription based service you can sign up for and you'll get new notebooks every few months + goodies, they release limited edition colors and you can customize your field notes too. pretty nifty. one of my favorite parts about the brand is a smart saying they've embraced--check it out, and some field notes visuals below.

a little a lot in love with these cute and clever snail mail note cards from kate spade...these would make me smile if i got one in my mailbox. getting anything personal in the mail makes me happy these days actually. it's a nice change from our world of constant tweets, texts, e-mail and more. a handwritten note on snail mail stationery like the below would be a nice break. so would one of the s.w.a.k. letters. needless to say, i have always been, and always will be, a fan of handwritten messages.
