Finally made it to Friday--hooray! I'll be working on a bit of blog cleanup and streamlining over the weekend and through the next week or so, and am also looking forward to relaxing. Perhaps some delicious lunches, TV series catch-up sessions and some reading too. I'm headed to Jersey to hang out with my favorite and have a low-key couple of days. i'm planning on having a new (exciting!) music post for you next week, but to kick off monday, i thought i'd share this upbeat track by a band called givers, who i've been lucky enough to see twice now. they're young, eclectic, talented and have the coolest sound. hope your monday is off to a good start!

this city

i don't usually cover music on this blog, but i wanted to share this song by patrick stump called "this city." i was lucky enough to see him perform an acoustic set in november out in napa, and he blew me away. the video is fun, and this version with lupe fiasco is upbeat, but check out the version with just patrick on his album, soul punk, too. he's seriously talented, plays all of his own instruments and has a killer voice. (and used to be the drummer of fallout boy)  i love discovering new music so hope this is a new listen for you. enjoy!
