If you've been reading the news at all, you'll know that the East Coast has been rocked hard by a Hurricane that passed through Monday and Tuesday. New Jersey and New York were two of the hardest hit states. The devastation is terrible, especially in Manhattan and by the Jersey shoreline. It's affected me personally too--I've been without power for a few days and have been hiding out in NJ until the electricity gets restored in my apartment.
It's times like this that you really learn to appreciate a). electricity and heat b). the normalcy of routine and c.) not living in a place that's always riddled with hurricanes. While damage was done, every day is a step forward and communities are already rebuilding. I thought I'd focus on all of the good that October had to bring on this post, instead of all of the havoc that's been happening over the past week. A look through my Instagram photos from the month below. And most importantly, well wishes and thoughts to all who have had to face challenges and hardship due to the storm, especially those who have had to dea with more than just power loss. I hope everything is back to normal soon.
