I'm feeling tired tonight, but this editorial shoot brought me back to life a little bit. Loving the silhouettes and textures of the clothing, the light and the setting. Guess what this week is? Birthday week! That's right, I celebrate my 25th on Friday and am looking forward to a fun day and night with friends. Happy Monday, readers. Hope you had good weekends. Mine was great - filled with adventures into Brooklyn, great food & fun. Today, I'm feeling inspired by spring (which will get here someday, at least that's what I've been telling myself..) and floral prints. Paired with fun brights, like in the two looks below, I love the modern edge it takes.

Another style post up today - continuing through my collection of photos from Palm Springs. This time, I paired my favorite black romper with Karen Walker sunnies, a classic pair of summer sandals and a big gold cuff. The red lipstick was a bold accent to it all. I love the lush green backdrop too - Palm Springs was really beautiful and our hotel had the most well-kept grounds.
I think this look is easy, and perfect for a date or dinner out with friends. I know I'm looking forward to some summer nights to break this combination out again. What do you think?

Happy April and happy Monday, readers! Round two of my Fashion Forward series, coming at you today. I took a little spin on this one, and teamed up with my friend Kristina of Miss Zias, to show you how we took turns styling one of the key pieces in this outfit, the watercolor cape from Upstate. I picked it up on my recent trip to LA at Mohawk General Store when I finally met Jessie for the first time - it was also my first venture into Silver Lake.
But, back to the outfit. I tried out a casual look with this cape, pairing it with some ombre legging jeans that are super soft, and a plain tank. Stacked ID bracelets by Garnett Jewelry that I scored on Of A Kind rounded out my look. Pretty low-key outfit, but I loved it. Kristina took a whole new approach, and I loved her look too. Remember when I said that I'd be producing more original content this year in this post? Well, the year started off super busy, and got away from me a bit. I can't believe it's already March. That being said, I was finally able to get around to taking some photos for my new 'Fashion Forward' series. So, here it is! From time to time, I'll be sharing some looks with you here. I've always been a big fan of fashion, so why not invite you into my own closet for a peek?
Today is the first day of spring (hooray!), so what's more fitting that a bright outfit to celebrate. I took these pictures in Palm Springs this past weekend where it actually felt like summer. The colors fit right in. I picked up this striped top recently (you can still get it here), paired it with some basic denim shorts and my tried-and-true sandals. Voila! Easy outfit for the day. Kristina, who took the photos for me, noticed that the flowers along some of the paths at our hotel matched my top, and she helped me tuck them into my hair. Instantly, I was Pocahontas.

I recently stumbled across a vintage shop called Maeven. They have a lovely online boutique and I love the curation. Lots of great leather and fur pieces, along with fun tops and dresses. I'm not a big vintage shopper but I do occassionally check out some stores in the East Village. But when you're buying from someone with taste as good as Amy Yee, you don't have to think twice about your purchases. What about you - vintage shopper, or not really? Either way, it's hard to deny that Amy stocks her shop with great pieces. Check out Maeven!

Do you like to snowboard? I went for the 2nd time this season last weekend in the Poconos, and it was a blast with a few of my girlfriends and my little brother. I started snowboarding in early high school, and have not looked back to skis ever since. There's something a little more bad-ass about snowboarding, and I think it's more fun too. Sure, the first few times are a little frustrating and include some tumbles and falls, but over the years, I've tried to go at least a few times each season and it's paid off. Very little falling now, and just pure fun boarding down the slopes. It's an incredible workout and such a good feeling to be outside, gliding down a mountain.
Another part that I love about snowboarding: the fashion. It's colorful, bold and bright, so you can stand out on the slopes. And I love board design too. One of my very first big purchases was my K2 Luna snowboard, which I've had for several years. Coupled wtih my Boa boots (which make tightening snowboard boots effortless), bindings, jacket, pants and helmet, I feel ready to take on any ride. I've put together a fun collage of two looks below: one is a little more hip, the other, a bit girlier. Let me know what you think!

Apologies for my silence here these past couple of weeks. A busy few days last week was followed by the onset of a nasty cold this past weekend, and has had me feeling sort of icky all week. I've been focused on lots of sleep and low-key nights, trying to get better, so blogging just hasn't been in the cards for me. But tonight, I'm feeling a little bit more inspired. And it's been Fashion Week in NYC, which always surfaces tons of fashionable content to all of my social media streams.
I've got the well-dressed gentlemen on my mind though. I love seeing all types of Fashion Week street style, and I can especially applaud an effortlessly styled man in the mix of ladies. Overall, I've had a closer eye on men's fashion lately, and I can say that I'm a fan of the easy looks below. Thoughts - what type of men's style are you into?

Happy Monday, readers! Over the weekend, I enjoyed a lot of downtime, along with a few delicious meals. I saw Kelly off for a new adventure in Chicago, and we enjoyed brunch at Locanda Verde (what a gorgeous space!). Also, I finished Homeland (finally, glad I checked that off my list), and cooked up a mean veggie mac and cheese for dinner Saturday night. Hope you also had a nice weekend!
Now, onto today's post: I love a touch of black leather, worked into a great jacket, a perfect home accent, or a statement accessory. "Trend" or not, I'll be holding on to this trick for years to come. I think the living room and look below illustrate the point pretty perfectly, wouldn't you agree?
