late afternoon looks

have you guys seen and/or read liz's blog, late afternoon? she's been making her rounds in the blogosphere lately, but i can't get enough of her style and look. i love how she pairs prints and wears flowy maxi skirts effortlessly, and the fact that she recycles her clothes--i've seen her wear the same shoes/bag/accessories in more than one outfit post, but it's been put together in a totally new way! not to mention, the photography is fab. and i'm loving her tattoos, sparkly gold shorts, use of bright yellow and that leopard sun hat is to die for. i'm getting tons of style inspiration from liz, check out some of her outfits below and let me know what you think.

wow. in love with this look. it's bold, but in the coolest way. lauren conrad recently launched a great site called the beauty department. bri of designlovefest did the awesome blog design, of course, and this hair how-to is one of the best i've seen. a rainbow of highlights sounds pretty sweet to me.

stumbled upon this awesome site called the makers project from because i'm addicted and i really love it. brooklyn, these days, is home to so many talented artists, chefs, designers and more. there's a real diy culture that has sprung up and so many amazing, artisanal products come from bk. what better way to celebrate the talent than via todd selby-esque photos. i love this insider look at the inspiring spaces and people behind all of these great projects.

just little things

i love this tumblr blog called just little things. it makes you stop and appreciate, well, the little things in life that can often be overlooked, forgotten or taken for granted. moments, occurrences, actions that really make you happy when you stop and think about them. i think it's a positive site with a great message that reminds you of all the good in life and the world. check it out, it's inspiring on a gloomy day like today. some of my favorite "little things" below.

i know i'm in miami, but i couldn't help but post. sunshine girl is officially 1 today! it's really flown by. i'm pretty proud of myself for sticking with this here, as all of my previous attempts to blog fell into somewhat of an extended hiatus, but this here is different. it's my little space on the web to share what i like, so here's to 1 year of pretty pictures, fashion, inspiration, decor and all around eye candy. happy birthday to me (sorta) and mostly, to sunshine girl! and here's to another good year..or two..or three or more!

i came across this cool blog, thx thx thx, (i can't recall from where at the moment), and it reminds me of cardboard love a little bit. except, instead of love notes scribbled on cardboard, it's thank you notes scribbled on cards to all kinds of different objects/thoughts/occurrences. i love these cool little side projects that people think of and the originality and cleverness of leah's thx thx thx has me addicted. read it, love it. some of my favorite thank-yous below:
